People are trying to resell Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Editions for a profit even though supplies aren’t limited and there’s plenty of stock-

Opportunists are trying to sell Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition pre-orders on eBay for as much as $300. It’s always irritating when people snatch up limited edition collectibles and graphics cards to resell them for a profit, but there’s an even bigger problem with this scheme: The Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition isn’t a limited edition, and you can just pre-order one from Larian for $80 right now. It’ll ship next year.

The Baldur’s Gate 3 Collector’s Editions are indeed sold out, and are currently going for over $500 on eBay. But these physical Deluxe Editions aren’t in danger of going off sale anytime soon, according to Larian director of publishing Michael Douse.

Although Larian has already “blitzed past” the minimum number of physical Deluxe Edition orders it expected, says Douse, the company was prepared for that likelihood, and set a Q1 2024 shipping window precisely so that it could add shipping waves as needed to cover demand.

Nvidia reportedly cutting supply on slow selling RTX 4070 GPU-

Chalk this one up firmly as rumour, but Nvidia is reportedly temporarily winding back manufacturing and therefore supply of the new RTX 4070 graphics card, ostensibly due to slow sales.

Sources in China, the Board Channel/Bobantang forums (via Benchlife), are reporting on a rumoured supply reduction, with the consensus implying that Nvidia will constrict supply of the RTX 4070 for around a month.

The implication is that the RTX 4070 hasn’t been selling as well as expected, certainly not in comparison to the increased production the green team put in place for this launch, and so there’s a glut of unsold cards at retailers. So Nvidia is therefore cutting supply to help prop prices up.

Certainly the RTX 4070 has been widely available since launch. In the last few days several cards have appeared at retailers around the world at well below Nvidia’s recommended retail price.

We’ve spoken to retailers in the UK who have said that their sales of the RTX 4070 have b…

Radeon RX 7700 XT and 7800 XT pricing ‘super aggressive’ according to AMD-

AMD’s gaming graphics supremo, Scott Herkelman, has been expounding the virtues of the company’s new Radeon RX 7700 XT and 7800 XT GPUs, characterising their pricing as “super aggressive”.

In an interview with Club386, Herkelman was cross examined on the pretty reasonable question of whether the new 7700 XT and 7800 XT were priced a too close for comfort.

The 7700 XT clocks in at $449 and the 7800 XT at $499. The narrow distance between the two GPUs mirrors that of the 7900 XT and 7900 XTX at launch late last year. At $899 and $999, respectively, that made for the same 10% premium for the higher performing card.

The 7900 XT’s actual selling price has since dropped to well under $800, arguably creating a more suitable separation and implying the pricing was too close for market realities. Herkelman, perhaps not surprisingly, doesn’t see it that way.

“The percentage price gap between 7900 XTX / XT and 7800 XT / 7700 XT is roughly the same, though dollar-wise it…

Remnant 2 player gets punished with eternal torment upon the spike after drawing with a DLC boss-

Remnant 2’s latest DLC The Awakened King is a good time. I recently blasted through its six-hour long one-shot campaign as a glass cannon Gunslinger/Hunter build who folded in two the moment anything so much as breathed on me.

One boss, however, doesn’t care much for your health or damage resistance. Bruin, Blade of the King, is a knight whose obsession for impalement gives Vlad the Impaler a run for his money. He also has a one-hit KO move, a command-grab lunge that leaves you hanging on a pike. See below.

It’s pretty tolerable for an instant kill move, with a very obvious sound cue that tells you when to dodge and a massive wind-up. Still, if you mess up, you’re getting spiked. One player on the game’s subreddit, however, was punished with far more than death for their crimes.

Vastriva’s teammates manage to slay Bruin while the impale animation plays out. A victorious “Quest Complete!” appears on the screen while their poor body hangs limply from their enem…

The SteelSeries Alias Pro kit is our favorite microphone setup for streaming, and it’s down to $237 this Prime Day-

As someone that’s spent a good portion of my life tangled up in XLR cables, I’ll be the first to tell you that setting up audio gear can be a fiddly endeavour. If you’re not inclined to get down and dirty with all the intricacies of a pro audio setup—yet still fancy capturing quality sound for streaming, podcasts and more—then this SteelSeries kit makes things about as painless as they can be.

Currently available at a touch over $237 for Amazon Prime Members (and $250 for those without a membership) as part of the Prime Day sales, the SteelSeries Alias Pro kit has almost everything you need to get going. For much less fuss than you might expect, too.

I reviewed the Alias Pro kit at the start of this year, and came away very impressed with the package as a whole. The pill-shaped microphone, unlike the regular SteelSeries Alias, ditches internal amplification for an XLR port, through which it links to a very compact Stream Mixer that acts as both a preamp and a…

Thank goodness Return to Moria looks good because honestly I was going to play the Lord of the Rings crafting game either way-

Lord of the Rings games didn’t get a great start this year with the ropey Gollum game but I’m feeling pretty optimistic about incoming crafting and survival game Return to Moria. Gollum was a weird pitch even when we first heard about it and I felt little surprise it landed flat. A dwarven crafting and base-building game set down in Khazad-dûm already felt like a way better fit, and the new combat and crafting laden trailer is keeping my hopes afloat.

Look, it takes embarrassingly little to talk me into any crafting survival game. I have a weakness for whacking iron in a furnace, organizing my chests full of ores, and snapping together a little house in a little nook of the world I like, especially if I can do it with friends. So I’d probably be on board with Return to Moria even if it looked questionable. Thank goodness it doesn’t.

We got a look in the new trailer at the consequences of a noisy mining operation. There’s combat with Orcs, huge spiders…

Asus adds new DDR5 overclocking option to Z790 ROG motherboards for hunting down more fps and better stability-

With just about every motherboard model on the market supporting RAM overclocking, it takes something new to stand out from the crowd now. Enter stage left Asus with its DIMM Flex feature in its latest Z790 ROG lineup, that is supposed to allow for more performance or stability, depending on how hot everything is running.

The full details on exactly how it all works were issued as a blog on Asus’ website and it involves the addition of extra circuits and components that monitor the temperature of the DDR5 modules, feeding the information back to the CPU. If the RAM or power management chips are running too hot, then the board will tell the processor to slow things down a touch.

But if they’re both under a set thermal limit, then the CPU will adjust its integrated memory controller, boosting clock speeds or dropping timings, to eke out a little more performance. At stock settings, DDR5 isn’t going to run hot enough to cause problems, but those with a high XMP (Extreme Mem…

This 1TB SSD is so cheap you’re running out of excuses not to upgrade your gaming PC-

Amazon has a fantastic deal on a killer 1TB NVMe SDD for just $60, making it an excellent upgrade for any aging gaming PC. With SSD prices at an all-time low, it’s no wonder we’re seeing a plethora of outstanding NVMe SSD deals this week.

The 1TB WD Black SN850X typically retails for around $80, but I’ve noticed it occasionally spiking to its original launch price of $160 recently. But at $60, it’s the lowest price I’ve seen for what is arguably the best SSD for gaming.

This PCIe Gen 4 drive boasts a read speed of 7,300MB/s and a write speed of 6,300MB/s. Launched around this time last year, it’s faster than the 1TB SK Hynix Platinum P41 SSD that we really liked from a while back, and it’s $12 cheaper.

Our review of the WD Black SN850X highlighted its consistent performance and efficient thermal management. However, it’s worth noting that its performance is not a significant leap over the SN850. But the choice is clear considering the current discount o…
